Do these pegs push in left and right to drop the old piece down and off? How does the old piece come off of the pegs, and how does the new piece fit on the pegs?

Ken June 11, 2012 for Model Number MFI2568AEB The filtered water, from our Maytag, tastes/smells bad. Replacing filter helps but not for long. Refridgerator water line also feeds Kitchen sink which doesn't have bad taste or smell. Refridgerator purchased new, only 3 years old. Filter replacement helps for approx. 2-3 months. I don't notice the smell / taste in the ice. Any ideas?

1 Answer Hello Vivian. Check and see if the fill tube for the icemaker is frozen. If so, you will need to thaw it and replace the water valve. If it is clear, you will test for power coming to the water valve when the icemaker is cycling for a harvest. It will only send power for about 2-3 seconds. If there is power and no water, replace the water valve 67006322. If the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker WPW10190981. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
