Mike September 14, 2014 for Model Number u or v 311v-10 magic chef about 1973 mdl yr. free standing propane Oven pilot comes on and the oven starter flame, (little larger than the pilot) comes on but oven wont light. I lightly tapped the control where the thermocouple goes in and oven lit for 2 minutes then went out. It would not light again. I cleaned the thermocouple with steel wool before when I had this problem and that fixed it. Cleaning did not work this time.

Sara F August 08, 2012 for Model Number C31000PAW I have an older Crosley gas stove. My question is, am I able to turn off the gas control for the oven pilot? If not, can a part be fitted for this? I find I don't use the oven much at all and it's using up a lot of propane. Thanks a lot! Sara

1 Answer Ddeabreu, You need to start at the oven safety valve 74002672, If you have a proper sized pilot flame, it should be encompassing the temp bulb of the safety valve capillary tube, then the issue would be inside the valve. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
