Danny November 19, 2011 for Model Number LGR8620PW0 Hello, i have a whirlpool gas dryer that has problems starting. iv noticed my brothers have the bad habbit of shutting the door hard. causing my current problem. this problem i have is starting the dryer, i have close the door slow and pull up on the door till i hear a "click" once i hear that sound i can turn the dryer on.is there some kind of switch that engages when the door is closed allowing for the dryer to run?
1 Answer Danny, You need to check a couple of things first. Check and tighten the door hinges screws on both sides of the door and cabinet frontWP8066057. You'll need to remove the front panel assembly to check the door springs WPW10041960 if the door has a tendency to just drop hard and fast. Once you have the door aligned and everything is proper, you'll be fine, but the door switch assembly is WP3406107 just in case. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
