Greg Kiehl June 30, 2024 for Model Number KEBC247VWH03 I replaced the heating element and temp sensor, but oven comes up to temp too slow. What else should I replace? It is a double oven, lower works great%.
1 Answer Greg, You will want to test to make sure that there is 240 vac getting to the oven bake and broil elements. If there is not then there would be a control issue. If there is then one of the elements would be faulty. Read More...
1 Answer Don, If the oven is reaching temp then 20 to 25 mins is not an uncommon amount of time to preheat. Read More...
Alex November 23, 2021 for Model Number KGRS807SSS00 I used the OFF OFF START diagnostic and got this on the display. MOD ID 0101, 071 and diagnostic code AM16 UI15 EEKG0-245. The oven would work but would occasionally turn off intermittently and then turn back on when a bake cycle was running. This became progressively worse and now it does not work at all. I am wondering if this could be a circuit board issue or is this a faulty temperature sensor? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
1 Answer Alex, If the unit is not heating then you will want to test to see if there is 240 vac coming off the control board to the elements. if there is then check the elements and if there is not then the control board. Read More...
Dave November 15, 2021 Do you know what type of sensor this is? thermocouple (if so what type), RTD?? Looking to retro a bad oven with my own controls and would like to use the existing sensor if at all possible but obviously need to know how to scale it
1 Answer Dave, the sensor WPW10131825 is a PTC resistance-based sensor. As the temperature increases, so does the resistance of the sensor probe. Read More...
Robbie November 11, 2021 for Model Number Whirlpool RBS245PRB00 wall oven The oven will not heat. The control panel seems to be fine. I set the oven for 350, it starts in preheat mode but never heats. Temp sensor reads 1087 ohms, the Temp Limiter has continuity, both elements have continuity. Both lights work. I don't see any obvious instances of burns or surges on the circuit boards or their components. What should I test next?
1 Answer Robbie, You will want to test to see if there is proper power getting to the elements. You need to test them to see if there is 240 Vac. If there is not then the issue will be with the control board and if there is then the elements are bad and need to be replaced. Read More...
Peter August 29, 2021 for Model Number KDRP487MSS02. - side by side 48” oven Is there an Electronic Control Board for each oven( #16 in Oven parts view)? When setting the bake temp to 350 on just the right side, The broiler immediately comes on and the oven overheats, locking the door with a code F02. How do I gain access to this board to remove and test it? Is this board different than Control-Oven #5 in Control Panel Parts view? I have tested the resistance of the temperature sensor and it appears to be good.
1 Answer Peter, the control would be accessed by removing the burner caps, burner heads, and the top panel. Once this is done, there will be a rubber tape that would need to be peeled away to be able to remove the screws securing the middle access panel under the top panel. This will give access to the range control WP8301182. Unfortunately, this control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Read More...
Peter August 26, 2021 for Model Number KDRP487MSS02 While baking on one side of this double oven, a code appeared (FO2) and the door locked. I shut off the breaker and the door unlocked after the oven cooled. The other oven appears to work fine. If the sensor is bad, how do I check it? If it is ok, then would the problem be the oven control?
1 Answer Peter, the error F02 is going to indicate that a relay on the oven control for that side has welded shut and causing the unit to overheat. This can be verified by unplugging the power cord and accessing the connections P4 and P5 of the oven control. With a meter set to measure continuity, measure from pin 1 on P4 to pin 1 on P5. If there is continuity, the control has failed. If there is not continuity, move the probe from pin1 on P5 to pin 3, then pin 4. If there is continuity at any of these points when testing, the control has failed. Unfortunately, the left WP8301583 and the right WP8301182 oven controls have been discontinued by the manufacturer and are no longer available. Read More...
Mitzie Mitt July 28, 2021 for Model Number KEBC171KBL06 Our oven seems to not stop heating. I turn it on for 350 degrees and put an oven thermometer hanging in the center on the oven. I watched the display for temp come up to 350 degrees and heard the usual sound indicating it was heated. I just let it continue there opening it now and then to check the thermometer reading. The temp began to climb up oven the next 20 minutes to 600 degrees and I turned it off. What do you suggest to repair this? Thank you.
1 Answer Mitzie, This would be a control board problem in which the relay is sticking on the control board for the bake. The control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
Daniel September 22, 2020 for Model Number RBD277PVB03 how do you calibrate temperature sensor on upper and lower electric oven. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Daniel, press the BAKE pad for about 5 seconds, the control will display the current temperature offset (00). use the up/down pads to raise/lower offset up to 30 deg, once done press Start to lock it in. Read More...
Peter September 13, 2020 for Model Number KEMC308KSS04 The oven will pre-heat to the desired temperature. At this point the burner turns off . My understanding is periodically the burner should be turned back on to maintain the desired temperature while things are being cooked. In my case the burner does not come back on at all and eventually cools to room temperature. Is this a problem with the temperature sensor ? thank you
1 Answer Peter, I would recommend you to check the sensor for the proper resistance...if it is not in the parameters then it would need to be replaced. If the sensor is with in the parameters then the control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
