This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it.
