Fix a dishwasher that won't drain or drains constantly during wash cycles. This drain solenoid valve controls water drainage timing. Moderate DIY repair.
Took the washer out, turned it over and found the solenoid that worked the drain valve to be melted, and the shaft that the solenoid activates was heavily corroded. Dishwasher needed new wheel that mounted to upper rack.There are 4 total that make the rack roll in and out. Replaced both side rails and rail caps (4- only 50 cents each) along with new upper rack that came with wheels installed. One side rail was bent so decided to spend a little extra and replace both. Secures washer hoses at pump, tub, and valve connections to prevent leaks and hose blow-offs. Replace worn or missing clamps for a tight seal. Confirm fit.
The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge.
