This spark module controls ignition for the surface burners on gas cooktops and ranges. When a knob is turned, it generates the high-voltage spark needed to light the gas, restoring fast, consistent burner ignition across four positions.
- Generates high-voltage pulses to ignite up to four surface burners
- Activates when a burner switch is turned to provide reliable sparking to the igniters
- Common symptoms include no spark on any surface burner
- Intermittent or weak sparking across multiple burners
- Burners only lighting with an external flame
What's included: One spark module. Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power and shut off gas before servicing
- Photograph or label all wire positions; move wires to the new module one at a time to avoid miswiring
- Mount the module securely in the original location; keep leads dry and routed away from heat/sharp edges
- High-voltage hazard: do not touch igniter outputs during testing; verify all connections are fully seated before restoring power

4 of my 6 burners would not spark to light the gas Craig H. • San Carlos , CA • April 29, 2016
I replaced the existing Tytronics spark module with en exact replacement. These things only seem to last 3 to 5 years on my Viking stove. I learned years ago to buy an exact replacement, not a clone, as otherwise the wiring order may be different. The clones will work, but you may send hours trying different wiring combinations. By using this new exact replacement part I was done with the swap in less than 10 minutes and had my stove working again like new. Tip: A small "screwdriver ratchet"...
