Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirlpool lsr7233eq0 washing machine was leaking out the bottom   Jerald F. • Laud Lakes , FL • April 05, 2015

I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I studied the parts diagram for the washer tub assembly and concluded the source of the leak almost had to be the outer tub's Centerpost Gasket. It was really the... Read more

I searched the internet for the most likely cause of the problem and then went to the AppliancePartsPros.com site to see if they had the parts. I looked at videos and read several blogs about my GE GTW460ASJ6WW washer not agitating. They all pointed to changing the Clutch and Washer mode shifter. Pretty easy repair that only took about 15 minutes. The old parts looked ok but changed them anyway. This DID NOT solve the problem. Took a closer examination of the agitator. Washer Drive Block
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP389140

The Washer Drive Block is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This component is situated between the washer's transmission and the inner tub, playing a key role in transferring the rotational motion from the motor to the tub.

Causes for replacement often stem from normal wear and tear, which can lead to the drive block becoming worn or damaged. This wear can prevent the drive block from properly engaging with the tub, leading to inefficient cycles and potential damage to other parts of the washing machine.

Symptoms of a bad Washer Drive Block include:

  • The washer tub has difficulty agitating or spinning.
  • A loud noise during the spin cycle, indicating that the tub is not engaging correctly with the transmission.
  • The machine vibrates excessively or seems off-balance, even with a balanced load.

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Shakes and moves
  • Noisy
  • Pumps but will not spin

I had replaced the Agitator cams a couple of times already due to my brother-in-law overloading the machine which stripped the teeth off of the cams. Part Number: WH49X10042

The Washer Agitator Coupler Kit is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This kit includes the coupler component that connects the agitator to the washing machine's transmission. It plays a pivotal role in the washing process by transmitting rotational force from the motor to the agitator, enabling it to move back and forth and effectively clean clothes.

Symptoms of a bad Washer Agitator Coupler include:

  • The agitator failing to move or moving weakly during cycles, which can result in poorly washed clothes.
  • Unusual noises from the washing machine during operation, indicating a mechanical issue.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Agitator drive failed   W J. • Panama City Beach , FL • February 26, 2023

I had to cut the old agitator out with an oscillating saw in order to access the agitator drive. This is the second Maytag (MVWC 565) I have had to do this to. I first tried removing it by sliding straps under the agitator then then using a jack to pull it loose which did not work either time. One suggestion I have would be to remove debris from tub as you cut in order to prevent it from dropping from the inner tub into the outer tub. Read more
