The fix was to replace the inlet valve. I was able to buy the part from Appliance Parts Pros at less expense than from the technician's company. I googled it and the first hit was the appliancepartspros.com website. I easily found the replacement, ordered it and had it within 3 days. Other than taking the screws out to remove the lower back plate on our refridgerator, removal of the old part and installing the new one required no tools and could not have been easier.
