Danielle M Simpsonville , SC March 12, 2014 Appliance: Model 596.69142991 Refrigerator not cooling Refrigerator was not cooling, but was continuously runing & freezer compartment was extremely cold. Determined that fan assembly that takes freezer air & circulates to the refrigerator didn't seem to be working. Determined that the fan assembly motor was not rotating. Easily found replacement on AppliancePartsPro.com. Received the part quickly (Impressive delivery time!). Unplugged refrigerator, then easily removed to rear cover inside the freezer section by removing hex head screws. Diconnected wiring to the motor, noting which wires went where (picture does wonders!). Removed Fan Assembly as a single unit, removing the handful of hexhead screws. Simply positioned the new assembly, re-installed the screws & reconnected wiring. Plugged 'fridge back in to ensure fan was running correct rotation & air was entering refrigerator compartment. Once confirmed, unplugged refrigerator (for safety) & re-installed back cover over fan insight freezer compartment.Plugged back in & Voila! Perfecto! Gina R Collegeville , PA July 05, 2016 Our fridge wasn't cold! We had someone from Sears come out to inspect our fridge and helped us determine the evaporator fan was broken. One option was to spend $300-$400 to have a Sears technician come back to fix the broken part or try to do it ourselves for only $90. We tried the latter and installed the new motor successfully. The video tutorial helped tremendously. Thank you for making this an easy repair. We are so happy we were able to fix this ourselves and no need to purchase an entirely new fridge. Woo hoo!
