Philip R Wichita , KS March 06, 2015 Appliance: KitchenAid 6 Quart Professional 600 Bowl Lift Stand Mixer KP26M1XNP5 Stripped worm gear this is the fourth time in 6 years my wife uses this 6 quart mixer a lot! This time I replaced the front and rear bearings and thrust bearing and all the gears. The hardest part is thoroughly cleaning out all the old grease. After re-greasing and assembly mixer ran like new. I wish a more robust worm gear was available. A snap ring plier is a must for this job. D Z Greenfield , IN November 29, 2014 Appliance: KitchenAid 6 Qt. Stand Mixer KP26M1XPM4 Had a friend with a kitchen aid mixer that would not run Being somewhat handy I told I would be glad to take a look and see if there was something I could do. Got the mixer home and found the transmission housing broken and front bearing breaking up also found worm gear assemble chewed up some. Found Appliance Parts Pro online and was able to all the parts needed to make what I am sure will be a long lasting repair. Once unit was cleaned of all the old grease and particles from bearing, new parts and appliance grease was added to complete the repair. Return to my friend in great working order. She was so please she called later in the day to say she had made a big batch of Pumpkin bread, Yum, thanks for your quick shipping and having everything I needed to do this project. From the time I took the mixer, diagnosed and order parts and made the repairs, I had the mixer back to her in 7 days, Thanks again your are definitely in my favorites. Michael P Saint Louis , MO December 15, 2014 Appliance: KitchenAid 5 Qt. Stand Mixer Professional Heavy Duty Bowl Lift KG25H7XOB5 Kitchenaid mixer was slipping gears I make a lot of bread doughs with my KitchenAid mixer, and it's used 2-3 times a week for large batches of dough. The gears began slipping, and I decided to take the mixer apart, and replace the worn gears. Replacing the transmission housings plastic cover, with the newer metal one will probably result in me not having to repeat this process, as the plastic one broke at the screw holes under pressure. I also replaced the worm gear, and the sleeve bearings. Read More... 16 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Douglas K Phillipsburg , NJ December 10, 2016 Kitchen aid mixer was making noise This a 475 watt mixer and its gears were stripped. wasn't used that much, have a smaller one that's 30 years old that's stronger. well anyway, took the mixer apart to find the stripped gears, saw a small crack in the trans cap but didn't worry about it. parts came quick and it took longer to get the spring clip off than to do the repair. but after cleaning out all the old grease, I found that the cap was cracked beyond use. lesson learned. clean everything and inspect before ordering. save your self time and shipping. hope to have the cap back and up and running soon. Christmas baking needs to be done. Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
