Mary S Porter , TX February 15, 2019 Appliance: Magic Chef Electric Dryer YE224LVC Noisy bumping sound. Blower wheel and clamp replacement. Initially, we replaced both the belt and drum roller wheels but that did not stop the noise. By reviewing videos on YouTube and AppliancePartsPros, we suspected that the blower wheel could be problematic, even though with front panel of dryer off, we did not see any visual clues to support that theory. Purchased the replacement clamp as well, just for good measure (and it was inexpensive). Note: we did call AppliancePartsPros with our model AND serial numbers before placing order, because we noticed there were 2 diameters available for the shaft and we did not want to risk purchasing the wrong part. Toughest parts to the job are (a) reseating the drum on the drum rollers, and (b) maneuvering the belt in place around the pulley, as you have to do this by touch, since you cannot see it. We are delighted with the results. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set

Jason B Gouverneur , NY May 02, 2021 Appliance: Crosley Electric Dryer CDE22B8VC The customer said it was making a fairly loud noise. Was expecting a glider to be worn out that supports the front of the drum. Found the blower wheel rounded out inside it’s nylon hub and so it spun almost freely on the motor driveshaft. The right glider which supports most of the weight of the front of the tub, was worn down but, did not make any noise there. I replaced it anyway. It was an electric Crosley dryer. There were a few screws that required a small Allen wrench. Also you need a set of snap ring pliers that have straight bills on them to take the snap ring off the shaft that secures the blower wheel. Did a complete cleaning with a vacuum on the inside. The lady was very happy. I also pointed out that she had a high-quality dryer and it was worth saving. There was a fair amount of pride in engineering. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Socket Set
