William B Rocky Mount , NC December 17, 2018 Loud squealing noise First replaced the drum rollers...that wasn't it..took dryer back apart and spun the belt tension wheel by hand (should have done this the first time I took the dryer apart) and it squeaked. so I ordered the full parts: wheel, idler arm, idler spring, arm sleeve, E ring..Put it back together and whoa..no more squealing!! Richard G El Paso , TX December 18, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG NEPTUNE The rollers needed to be replaced, the axles for the rollers needed to be replaced, the tension pulley roller needed to be replaced, the belt needed to be replaced It took me about 2 hours to take everything apart and get it back together & running again with no problems. Ordered parts for a 25 year old Maytag gas dryer..no problem in getting parts,.the web site for parts are great It cross references to other parts so you can order the parts. or suggestion on what you may need to do..I didn't have to take the dryer totally apart from the front..as if you would repair the drum roller for which I did a few time ..just pull out dryer from wall disconnect the gas and power suppley..open the small 8 x8 panal on backside where the motor is located , take old parts out replace will new parts down. reconnect everything..Than done ..It took me 20 to 25 minutes to do the job..My skill level is very good. If I would get a repairs person to do it. I would have to take the dryer to than and the cost would be over $200. Besides if you have anything that more than10 years old no one will repair it.
