At first, I didn't know whether the problem was the element or the terminal block, so I bought replacements for both. (Standard shipping arrived early.) I should have known the problem was the element because the cook heard a "Ting!" loud-enough to carry to the next room, and upon close inspection when removed, the defective element was visibly fractured at one point, near the back of the oven (which was hard to see, in my defense).
