Kevin M Middleville , MI October 31, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Dryer GGW9200LW1 Towels started taking a long time to dry. My dryer lint filter was clogged beyond regular cleaning due to its age. After 15 years of daily use it was time to replace. In.the process of determining why the dryer was taking so long to dry loads, I noticed the filter housing gasket had torn off somehow which allow a lot of lint to pass through into the dryers main housing. I believe this prevented the dryer to have good air flow. Replacing both the filter and its housing was easy and fixed the problem pronto! I saved myself $1000 by fixing it myself versus replacing the unit. Thank you APP! Probably didn’t need the flapper but I didn’t want to set into the repair and find out I did need it.
