Kevin O Lancaster , NY March 27, 2018 Water actuator pad was cracked Replaced the actuator pad on the Whirlpool Gold Series, releasing the electronic menu pad to get to the water activator pad was the biggest hurdle. The release tabs are underneath the menu pad and you may feel as if you may break them when releasing them. They did not break but I did hold by breath. Christopher M Taunton , MA March 08, 2024 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2665XEB1 Broken water dispenser pad (actuator) We had an issue where our fridge water dispenser would randomly dispense water and it would only stop if you opened the fridge door. Of course, this water dispenser would dispense regardless of if you had just gotten water or not, so you did not need to interact with it at all. Not great. After some research I found that it was likely a result of some broken plastic on the "Actuators", which is the fancy name for the Dispenser Pad. AppliancePartsPros.com not only had the best price for the item, but had a great YouTube video to guide me through the repair. I used the YouTube video to help me take things apart and disconnect the water dispenser until the part arrived. I ordered my replacement parts on a Sunday evening, they were shipping on a Monday morning and received Tuesday afternoon.
