Barry W Cheyenne , WY April 11, 2017 Appliance: Estate Dryer TEDS840JQ0 The thermal fuse was bad i suspected the push to start relay might be bad I troubleshot it by looking at the wiring diagram I found under the control panel. I suspected the door switch. I watched a video on how to replace it which helped me get access to it and test it with a multimeter. I watched a video on the push to start switch. Testing it was a little vague. So, I ordered that part. I found in the comments a guy who did the same and then after replacing the part and it still didn't work replaced the thermal fuse. So, I tested the thermal fuse and it failed (no continuity). So, I added that part. I watched the video on that part. I replaced the part in a few minutes. I read comments about the thermal fuse failures. So, I cleaned out the lint tube that had a lot of lint in it...along with the motor blade area, the heating element intake tube. I tested the machine and it worked. I decided to replace the push to start rather than storing it for a decade or losing money returning the part. Joel S Ferndale , WA March 27, 2016 Appliance: Estate Dryer TEDS840JQ2 Dryer wouldn't start Used a multimeter to test the thermal fuse (it was good) and the start switch relay (it was good) and then this guy. It was not clicking consistently, which meant the dryer was not detecting when the door was closed. Replaced the part and it fired back up immediately. I was told by a local repair place when they found out the dryer was 13 years old that it probably wasn't worth fixing. Now after $25 spent I am hoping to get a another few years out of this dryer, so the $ and time should be well worth it. Appliance parts pros replacement videos are amazing. Read More...
