James N Wayne , MI October 25, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Dryer WGD4800XQ4 My whirlpool dryer would not remain running after releasing the push to start switch First, removed the 6 sheet metal screws attaching the access panel behind the dryer control panel. Pulled the start switch knob off. unplugged the two wire harness connectors from switch. Looking at it from the back, gently pulled the plastic retainer back while turning the switch about 30 degrees to the right and out. Reversed the process to install the new switch. Door switch tested good. It was the only thing left and so we replaced it.
