Eberhard L Raleigh , NC March 17, 2023 Appliance: Model GBD307PDS6S10 Stopped working while in self cleaning mode. This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning. I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Took doors off (watch video from others), unscrewed from the wall, and made a very small platform. and took the oven out (need two people and take the doors off first. The doors are heavy and you won't lift the oven with the doors on). MAKE SURE THE POWER IS SWITCHED OFF. The wiring diagram says that the fuse on the back for the top oven would be WP9759242, but it actually is WP9759243. And as shown in the videos, the fuse connected to the main board was dead as well. In my oven, it was the WP4456654, not the WP4451042. Oven worked again, BUT I realized that the main wire connection is attached to a Whirlpool part# 8302143 (called suppressor), and the connection of the neutral was loose. it fried the connections and was close to creating a fire !!!. CHECK THE WIRE CONNECTORS BEFORE PUTTING THE OVEN BACK INTO THE WALL. I needed to replace the suppressor AND the terminal block, both were partly fried and damaged. Clean the wire connectors before you put everything together at the terminal block. If you don't know which part you need, order more, and send back what you don't need. I had to purchase parts three times and had to pay to ship three times until I had everything I needed. contact me if you wish, I have made plenty of pictures, but there is no place here to upload them. Gary R Denton , TX March 29, 2026 Our oven was not heating I began by turning off the breaker. I then removed the screws securing the bake element. I immediately noticed only one side was wired and the other side was burned off. The wire for the burned off section had fallen through the hole in the back of the oven. I tried fishing it out to no avail. I removed two side trim screws, the side trim pieces, and two screws holding the built-in oven into the wall. I was able to slide the oven out and onto a square stool that was the correct height. I removed the back plate and had complete access to the electrical components. I could see the missing wire for the bake element, removed what was left of the burned section, and inserted it back in the hole. While I had access, I checked the thermal fuse and the oven temperature sensor with an ohm meter. I decided to replace them since they were 25 years old. I could not find the parts needed locally so I checked two places on-line. Both places were about the same total price but Appliance Parts Pros guaranteed that they would be shipped the same day and arrive the next day. I placed the order and they were shipped almost immediately from Louisville, KY. FedEx delivered the parts the next day in Texas, I installed them in about 20 minutes and slid the oven back in place. I flipped on the breakers and my wife made me some cookies. Everything worked perfectly! I could have ordered aftermarket parts from Amazon at a greatly reduced price, but I wanted OEM parts. I am extremely happy with the superb service from Appliance Parts Pros. I will definitely buy from them again. Read More... Paul B College Station , TX April 21, 2014 During self cleaning of our 15 year old whirlpool double oven the oven went out After determining that the breaker hadn't tripped. I knew it was the thermal overload fuse that had blown because it had done the same thing several years ago. This time instead of calling a service tech, I decided to do the repair myself. I checked with a couple of local appliance repair shops for the part and no one had it in stock. I started my internet search on Amazon and found Appliance Parts Pro. I had a different part and part number because the service tech from the first repair had replaced the fuse with one that was not a Whirlpool part. AppliancePartsPros.com had the part but when checked against their compatible chart it was not compatible. I searched by the oven Model No. and the correct Whirlpool part was listed and pictured and compatible and in stock. I ordered the part late Wednesday night and the part arrived at my door by noon on Friday. Since it was Good Friday, a holiday for most people, I didn't really expect to get the part until after Easter. Installing it was easy. Pull the oven out to the wall, remove the old part, attach the new part with two small screws and attach the two wire leads. Push oven back in wall. We were able to use the oven for our Easter Sunday family dinner. Read More... 130 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Joe S Houston , TX August 04, 2014 Won't heat after self cleaning Replaced thermal overload for top oven. Replaced thermal fuse for bottom oven. Thermal fuse was simple and easy to access. Thermal overload required removing the entire oven in order to access the back panel. After that it i only had to remove and replace two screws to replace the Thermal Overload unit.
