Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You There was a hole rusted in the box burner   Charles H. • Avon Park , FL • May 08, 2017

I first DISCONNECTED POWER FROM THE RANGE using the breaker. I then pulled the range out from the wall to give myself plenty of working room. I lifted the range top up as when you clean under the burners. I then moved the ends of the bottom of the slide rods that lock the range top open back where they came loose from the top of the range. This allows you to fold it higher and have complete access to the top of the range. I then took out all the Phillips head screws that hold down the sheet... Read more

Amana Oven Bottom Panel
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3195097

This panel forms the floor of the oven, sitting above the bake element or burner to shield it from spills and provide a smooth, stable surface. Replace a warped or damaged panel to help maintain proper heating and easier cleanup. What it does:

  • Forms the oven floor above the bake element or burner
  • Shields the heat source from drips and debris to help prevent scorching and odors
  • Supports designed airflow and heat distribution in the cavity
  • Common replacement signs: warped or dented panel, rust or chipped finish, smoke/odors from spills beneath the panel, or uneven baking results
What's included:
  • 1 oven bottom panel
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and shut off gas supply for gas ranges) before servicing; allow the oven to cool completely
  • Remove oven racks; release front fasteners or clips and lift the old panel out of the rear tabs (method varies by model)
  • Seat the new panel into rear tabs, align the front edge, and secure as originally installed
  • Verify the panel sits flat and clear of the bake element or burner before reassembling

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Pies had run down onto my oven bottom and ruined the porcelain finish   Linda B. • Brookville , PA • June 21, 2014

I ordered the new oven bottom from Appliance Parts Pros and within three days I had a brand new oven bottom. Took the old one out, the new one fit superbly. The next time I will definitely put foil or an oven liner on the bottom rack to catch the drips from the pies as the Aqua-lift cleaning system on the Whirlpool oven did not do the job. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The oven wasn't lighting up gas   Michael K. • Eastlake , OH • April 11, 2025

I replaced the Oven Igniter. After ensuring that it was the igniter, by turning on the stove and taking out the oven bottom. Watch if it turns red. If not, then either the wiring is faulty, or the igniter went bad. The bulb was due to a loose and broken light bulb, can't use any normal bulb, these ones are specially made to withstand the heat. And the oven bottom was warped due repeatedly heating up and cooling down over the years. It took a fair bit of time to get the new one in, since it was... Read more
