Alan S. for Model Number PCS484GG Thermador I am looking for a Hot Surface Ignitor for the grill section of my Thermador Cooktop. The original part number was 15-10-312-2. That number has been changed to 00487542. This part has been discontinued. Is there another part that can be rigged to replace and operate the grill? I find it annoying and frustrating to have purchased such a high end product only to discover that certain parts that will indeed wear out are no longer available.
Answer Hello Alan, 00415504 should be a satisfactory ignitor for the application although it is not recommended by the manufacturer. The only difference we could find is the length of the wires. If the wires are spliced to the existing wires, be sure to use ceramic wire nuts since they can withstand the high temperatures to which they will be exposed. Read More...
