George for Model Number GD25DIXHB00 Will try and include all relevant info: The problem is the start relay keeps burning out, have gone thru 3 including the original one. The first one I put in lasted about 6 months. The last one I put in only lasted 1 month. The first start relay (the original) I pulled off the disk was in several small pieces. The second disk one was in about 3 or 4 pieces and then this last one was in two pieces. Both of the start relays I bought were the cheaper replacement part but looked identical to the original. This unit does have the Capacitor have not tested can't find a test procedure. The compressor windings have the following reading 5, 2.8, and 8 Note that the reading on my multimeter did fluxuate a bit. The windings to ground were open not shorted reading infinity so my understanding is the compressor is good. what is the probability of the compressor being bad. Question: Could the capacitor be causing the start relay to blow or is the start relay I am buying is substandard and poor quality. Could the overload relay be bad and blowing the Start relay. Would it be best to order the complete kit with all three parts and replace all at once.
Answer Hello George. It sounds like surges or a bad power source coming to the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, December 9, 2013
