Hello John, If these are the ones on the old dependable care design machines, you can use a metal electrical box to hold the spring in the extended configuration so you can get them installed. Since you already have them off you will need to put in the spring in the front, tilt the tub assembly toward the rear of the cabinet and slip the electrical box into the spring so it will hold it in its' extended position. Do this to another spring, using the front spring position once again. Remove it and tilt the tub assembly to the rear. Install the first two springs and save the front spring for last. The last one can be installed with pliers or vise grips by tilting the tub assembly toward the front of the machine.
