Bob for Model Number Maytag Dryer Model MDG5500AWW Hi. When I turn on dryer I see igniter turns red, then flame starts, but flame only last for 15 second. I thought it's gas valve coil got bad, replaced it but still have the same issue. I check igniter continuity and it's fine. Is it possible that themistor is a cause of flame cut off early? I check themistor for continuity and there is no continuity.
Answer Hi Bob. For a thermistor part # 307208, you will look for resistance. It should read around 10,000 ohms at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. There is a flame sensor part # WP338906 that normally is closed, it may be opening prematurely and making the flame go out. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Also make sure that there are absolutely no vent kinks or the vent hood/cap outside is not shut or not opening and closing correctly. Thank You. ://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 3, 2012
