This bimetal limit switch monitors a radiant surface element's temperature and opens the circuit if it overheats, helping your cooktop maintain safe, consistent heating while protecting wiring and controls from damage. What it does:

• Senses surface element temperature via a bimetal sensor
• Opens/closes the circuit to limit element temperature and prevent overheating
• Helps the burner cycle properly for more consistent heat
• Common symptoms: no heat, low heat/cycles off too soon, overheating, or erratic cycling

• Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
• Access the element, note wire positions, and transfer leads to the new switch one at a time
• Mount firmly to the element/bracket so the sensor has correct contact
• Do not bend or adjust the sensor; replace if damaged
