This is a flange nut that can be used in a variety of lawn and garden equipment from different manufacturers. The nut is made of metal, measures 5/16x18, and is used to secure components in place. It also assists with preventing backing out caused by vibration. Over time, the flange nut can become damaged and will need to be replaced. If the flange nut in lawn and garden equipment has become damaged, is loose, or gets lost, then replacement is required. The level of difficulty of replacing a flange nut depends on which parts it's securing and what kind of equipment it is installed on.
