Upon taking the door apart it looked like the leak was coming from the vent so I replaced the vent cap, vent seal and the transition piece. I did not have to change the seals. It took me a while to figure out how to get the door apart, but once I did, it was fairly straightforward. Read more

This was a very simple repair. It was done in about an hour. It involves disconnecting the dishwasher, emptying the water from the inside, taking it out and flipping it over, and replacing the diverter motor. This repair is done on the underside of the dishwasher, nothing to disconnect inside (just remember to remove the baskets). First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Easy to trace the leak to the bottom of the door. => Ordered new Air Vent Assembly, gasket and Vent Deflector. Parts arrived. Took 5 minutes to remove upper panel. All parts arrived in one box - I purchased the tub gasket, lower door gasket and lower door seal. My existing parts were visibly pretty worn out, dishwasher is 12 years old (maybe should have just bought anew one?). Tub gasket was pretty easy, it took me a while to make sure it was even all the way around, after attest run and the subsequent drying heat it fits nicely.
