This component is a display control board used for the water dispenser on refrigerators. It sits above the ice and water dispenser in the door of the appliance. It's used to control various parts of the refrigerator to ensure the dispenser operates correctly. Buttons are included on the display control board for users to change settings, indicate a filter has been changed, and select the refrigerator temperature. If there is an issue with the display control board, the dispenser may no longer work. The dispenser's buttons may stop making changes to the dispenser settings. If this occurs, the display control board should be replaced. Unplug the refrigerator before using a screwdriver to depress the retaining tabs holding it in place. Make a note of where the wires are connected before taking them off. Remove the old display control board before connecting the wires to the new component. Insert the tabs on top into the housing and snap it into place. At this time, power can be restored to the refrigerator. This part is sold on an individual basis and directly sourced from the manufacturer. The display control board is a genuine OEM replacement component used for several refrigerators by Whirlpool.
