How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017493 / WPW10235721 Dishwasher Touch Pad Control Panel

I ordered the e board but did not fix it, the panel cntl did it. The ribbon wires on the panel cntl burnt. In the process I also checked the door latch and I replace it too. Now all my wash cycles and button works. I returned the e board and my money was return promptly. Shipping was fast 2 days for regular shipping. Thank you Joe 

This is the third replacement. Always the same problem. The ribbon burns out above two labels on the cable. This takes 18 months and therefore occurs just outside of any warranty. $150 is less than $600. So, the part is less than replacement appliance. First time user of ApplianceParts.com. Unbelievable speed. Less than 24 hours. Best price. Given the replacement control panel, the installation is simple. Tools = T20 torque and one hex socket. Isolate appliance. Remove cover (T20). Remove Control Board (3 x Hex). Remove Ribbon at Control Panel (Slide receiver and pull). REMOVE LABELS FROM RIBBON. Replace new panel and re-assemble. 

Ordered door switch, control panel, display panel. Got it the next day. Took 20 minutes start to finish to replace all 3. It works like a champ. 

It was a relatively easy repair. Remove inside panel and bolts for the handle and one wire connection. Install in reverse order. This is the second time I have replaced the same part. Poor design. 

The ribbon on this part was visibly damaged, so a straight swap of this part fixed the problem. 

Replaced with new part 

Intermittent membrane cell lights, then finally quit, no start at all. Replaced both electronic control board and top membrane cell touch pad. Very easy to replace both. Fixed it! Need torx 15 screwdriver and a few other hand tools. Not a hard job at all. 

Removed and replaced control panel with same part. 

It was very fast shipment reasonably priced and a good quality it was a very easy fix.
