Henry C Apex , NC March 14, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG DISHWASHER MDB7600AWS Replace broken latch and control panel (plastic broken at handle location) Your video on replacing the broken latch and handle was great! I watched other videos using other didhwasher models to get a sense on how easy/difficult it would be to replace the control panel. Replacing the control panel on my particular dishwasher model became straight forward. The control panel used 4 hex screws to secure it to the door. The circuit board housing unit used 2 more hex screws to secure it to the control panel and door. Another hex screw secured the top of the circuit board housing unit to get inside to attach the new control panel ribbon to circuit board. Everything was easy to reassemble if you take your time. Dallas B Fayetteville , NY October 30, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB8601AWW41 Broken latch and unable to start cycle Replaced both the latch and the control panel. The new control panel activated features not in the original unit. The new panel has a digital readout of time remaining in cycle. It allows more flexibility in delayed start. The rinse only cycle is shorter (the old rinse cycle was as long as a wash). I am not only satisfied but over joyed at the success of this 'replacement' part. Gregory N Pasadena , CA November 28, 2014 Start button on dishwasher was dead Ordered a replacement control panel. Door panel was easy to remove with a Torx screwdriver bit; a few more screws inside needed to be removed with a hex driver. Pull the ribbon cable from the control box. Install the new panel, reversing how you removed the dead panel. Reinstall all the screws. Done. Guy L Grafton , MA September 04, 2015 Appliance: Model MDQ7600AWQ Erratic behavior of control buttons unit wouldn't go into wash mode Push buttons are membrane-type. The wiring inside the membrane corrodes over time (and heat and moisture) until it just doesn't work at all. The membrane is integrated with the top plastic panel - not separately replaceable. Replaced the control panel that's on the top of the door. Easy to fix! Only gotcha is that you have to take off the cover of the control box (inside the door) and slide the locking bar out on the connector for the ribbon cable - the cable doesn't just push in, you have to release/relock that locking bar. Remember to get a new vent seal and install it into the new control panel, or this repair won't last long! Read More... James T Billings , MT January 05, 2015 Latch and front panel on my maytag dishwasher broke 12 years old...but it's a Maytag. Should have lasted 20. Instead of buying a new one...we opted to simply buy and replace the latch and panel. Easy to order...10 minute fix. I hope the rest of the dishwasher lasts the balance of the 20 years. Money ahead if so. Time will tell. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
