James B Golden , CO July 27, 2019 Appliance: Model 417.94802301 No heat 14 year old stacked laundry center Verified that the heating element was bad by using a digital voltmeter and seeing no continuity across terminals. Also verified that thermostats did have continuity. Ordered new element assembly plus belt, idler pulley, and new bearing kit set. The biggest challenge was getting the drum out. Had to remove the drum from rear support shaft. My Phillips screwdriver was slipping but had a #2 square driver that worked great. Then a large flat blade screwdriver thru-hole in support shaft, some WD40 on bearing and prying up. As recommended in some videos, use a long self-tapping screw to tap new holes in new support shaft before installing. AppliancePartsPros is great. My wife and I are in our 70s so anyone can do. She was disappointed that she couldn’t get a new washer/dryer. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
