Frigidaire 134190200 Washer Water Inlet Valve Assembly OEM Part

This is my third repair of this type. The first was a stand-alone washer and was very easy, because there was a plate on which the inlet valve assembly was mounted, and it was easily removed. This repair was on a Frigidaire stacked washer/dryer (laundry center). Stacked washer/dryers are typically purchased to save space and are often tucked into a closet. Be sure you can pull it out to access both front and rear. Remove drain hose from drain, detach water hoses, electricity and dryer vent pipe. (Clean up water.) This washer/dryer had no access to the inside from the rear; the only access was the slot through which the valve assembly protruded. Loosen screws holding the assembly. Remove lower front cover. Reach around tub to the back and remove electrical wire clips. Have another person pull the assembly slightly down and push to the rear. Use needle-nose pliers to loosen the hose clip on the filler hose and move it upward through the tiny hole on the back. Try to get both arms into front of washer to hold valve assembly and fill hose to pull them apart. (Treat cuts and scrapes on arms.) Do the same to insert hose on new assembly. Have another person hold the assembly to the rear while you use needle-nose pliers to pull hose clamp into place through the tiny hole on the back. Have the helper push the fill ports through the slot in the back and hold tightly while you turn the thread cutting screws into the assembly to hold it in place. (Best to have the screws cut the threads at your workbench before installing.) Connect all hoses and electrical clips; try hot and cold water. Replace front panel. A trip to my local appliance store revealed that none of the stacked washer/dryer combos on the floor had an access panel in the back.

From start to finish the replacement of the valve takes no more than 30 minutes to complete mark the two wiring harnesses for ease of identification

Looked up the model number and found the replacement water inlet valve. Looked at the video online. Of course, my machine didn't come apart like the one in the video! However, it was not a problem. In the online video the back came off of the washing machine. Mine does not. The top clips on in the front, so all I had to do is lift up the top (like lifting the hood of a car) to gain access to the valve which was in the upper right corner. It had an extra metal plate to hold the assembly at an angle. That piece screwed onto the new part and luckily it fit with no modifications. Just like new!!! The actual repair didn't take that long. It took me a little while to get the machine out of its location to where I could work on it freely.

After receiving my replacement inlet valve, I played the video on AppliancePartsPros.com to make sure I knew how to remove the old part and install the new one. After 15 minutes, I had the new part in and tested the washing machine.

Using a putty knife, I released the clips on the front of the machine to open the top. The top hinged back exposing the hot and cold water valve assembly. After noting the plug configuration, the electrical plugs for the hot water valve and cold water valves were removed. The hose clamp was removed using a pliers. The old valve assembly was held in by a single phillips screw. Once that was removed I installed the new valve assembly. It mounted differently using 2 screws however there were pre-existing holes in the back of my washer that worked. The screws were very hard to get started in the mounting bracket for the new assembly. I was able to get them in using a square drive and a portable cable drill. The hose clamp was reinstalled. The electric plugs were then reconnected and machine lid closed. Cold water fill now works.
