Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Failure to hold temperature after preheating.   Michael D. • Wilmington , DE • January 07, 2023

I was getting really frustrated with our oven. It would preheat to the correct temperature, then slowly lose heat until it was down to about 200 degrees. So it took about two hours to heat a pizza! Finally decided to repair the oven myself, rather than pay $300.00 to have a repair person come out. Ordered the replacement igniter from AppliancePartsPros.com, and it arrived in two days. I followed the instructional video on the AppliancePartsPros.com website, and it was going well until I... Read more

I replaced the transformer. Did not fix the problem and the new transformer overheated and failed as well. Your support person suggested the ignition module is bad. I bought a new igniter box and you replaced the transformer. The transformer got hot with only the harness connected. I found a short in one of the switches. Ge Machine Screw
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB01T10049

This machine screw is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in securing the burner head to the gas range top so that it can be used for cooking. If the burner head becomes loose or the screw is missing, it should be replaced. For safety reasons, the burner should not be used until this screw is replaced; the burner head could shift during cooking and lead to a fire. To start, disconnect the gas and power from the stove to prevent accidental ignition of the burner. Make sure the burners are not hot. Remove the burner grate and burner cap from the burner that is missing a screw. Install the new screw in the hole and tighten it with a screwdriver. Put the burner cap and burner grate back on the stove and reconnect the gas and power. Periodic inspection of the burner heads and all associated screws and parts on the stovetop will prevent accidents and keep the stove working correctly. This screw is a silver, metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in gas rangetops manufactured by General Electric and Hotpoint.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Igniter replacement and overall maintenenance   Julio M. • Tucson , AZ • February 13, 2017

Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. After that initial diagnose, I reassembled the cooktop without the igniters and ordered all the parts I needed. The second stage was... Read more

Ge Speed Nut, Single
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB01K10093

This speed nut is a clip-on fastener that provides threads for a screw on the appliance. It secures sheet-metal panels, brackets, or trim and helps keep assemblies tight under vibration and repeated use.

  • Provides captive threads so a screw can tighten into thin sheet metal
  • Helps secure panels, brackets, and trim pieces in place
  • Replace if a screw spins without tightening, a panel rattles/feels loose, or the original clip is missing or damaged
  • Restores a snug, reliable attachment point without a loose nut
What's included: One speed nut Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and, if applicable, shut off gas; allow the appliance to cool before servicing
  • Note the clip's orientation; slide it onto the panel edge or stud as designed
  • Start the screw by hand to avoid cross-threading; do not overtighten
  • Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling sheet-metal parts
