Dennis V Parker , CO March 24, 2020 Not dispensing ice, making loud noise When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair. Steve H Aledo , TX November 21, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator LSS25XSTASS Ice maker drive cup broken & drive motor unsecured Located drive motor securing screws where they had fallen in the freezing compartment, realigned drive motor assembly and reinstalled screws. I disassembled the ice collection unit to ensure the Drive Cup was the only item requiring replacement. It was very easy to locate and the replacement item on the AppliancePartsPros.com web site. A How-to video accompanied the parts description and was very helpful with clearly articulated tips on disassembly and reassembly of the unit. In total, disassembly and reassembly, from start to finish was maybe 45 minutes. If I has found the video first, that would have easily cut another 15 minutes off of the project. Although the part was available through a number of online stores and I had not purchased from AppliancePartsPros.com, the ease of the website and availability of a repair specific video made it obvious AppliancePartsPros had earned my business.
