Replaced ice maker unit

I found a broken tooth on the gear of this motor. The motor also was very hot to the touch. I removed the ice maker and disassembled it and removed the motor. There are two switches inside which determine when to fill water. I briefly plugged the assembly back in and the water solenoid kicked on - indicating the rest of they system still worked correctly. Using Google Image search I was able to find AppliancePartsPros and a part number for the motor. I exploded the picture to ensure the motor ratings were the same as the faulty motor (the were). In fact this particular motor appears used in just about every ice maker produced. The new motor arrived a few days later and I compared again to make sure they were one in the same design and specifications. All were correct. I installed the motor and temporarily installed in the freezer. The motor started turning and water filled the tray. About 30 minutes later the first 12 icecubes dropped into the ice bucket. I allowed the machine to continue running for about 4 hours. All worked as expected. Put the front cover back on and screwed the unit back into the freezer wall. This unit does not have a diagnostics feature so you will have to test this "live" to see if it works.

Replaced them, blew out drain.
