Kitchenaid Reservoir
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11346622

The Reservoir is a Whirlpool OEM replacement part for Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. This assembly does include the filter head. The filter head connects the external filter cartridge to the internal reservoir. The reservoir holds filtered water that is dispensed from the external door dispenser.

Causes can be normal wear to sealing components, cracks in plastic from repeated pressure changes, or mineral buildup affecting water flow.

Symptoms of a problem include:

  • Prematurely lit filter change indicators
  • Water dispenser flow slowing or stopping over time
  • Gradual decline in ice production amounts
  • Noticeable sediment or particles in dispensed water

It is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a leak at the water inlet valve   Nicholas C. • Wildwood , MO • May 15, 2020

I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water dispenser made a lot of noise   Pablo C. • Apex , NC • November 23, 2015

Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. For the not-so-experts like me it is also good to rememebr to have a bucket to collect all the water that comes out after the connection to the solenoid valves is... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Replaced of water filter then discovered a long slimy clear algae on purging system   Michel L. • Rockledge , FL • March 26, 2017

After watching installation videos on each felt I could pull it off and ordered and received replacement water reservoir and water dispenser tube assembly. Reservoir installation went off without a hitch outside of the added step of the need to remove the entire main in waterline assy in order to access the connectors which also were not as represented in video, in that they were not the press-to-release type but standard threaded compression types. Water Dispenser tube/spout assembly was much... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water was leaking from the upper part of the refrigerator into the refrigerator compartment   Floyd S. • Waipahu , HI • October 17, 2015

The storage device for water had a cracked fitting so when either the water or ice solenoid was activated the water ran into the compartment. I replaced the storage device (reservoir) once I figured out how to remove the upper cover in the top of the refrigerator. I needed to remove two screws located by the water filter these are the only fasterners needed to be removed, after that you need to pry down on the entire cover which is snapped in place, disconned the electrical connections and your... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Mice chewed through all 3 water lines   Richard P. • Houston , TX • January 15, 2018

Replaced water reservoir, filter assembly, and water line via the provided instructional videos. The only problems I had where that the water line video had a different fridge layout (filter assembly was perfect), and the inevitable leak on one of the sharkbite-style connectors. I dread dealing with plumbing leaks, so I work on it a little, come back to it the next day, get a little further, etc. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water in refrigerator dispenser smelled like rotten eggs   Dale L. • Phoenix , AZ • July 29, 2018

Replaced water reservoir that had become contaminated with ??? Also had to replace the water filter, because the water contaminated it also. Cost was about $150, for two filters and the reservoir. The first filter was replaced because I did not know the reservoir was contaminated, and no water was coming out of the dispenser. Since the water in the ice maker did not come through the reservoir, there was no smell or contamination there. The new filter enabled water to come through the dispenser,... Read more
