Over time, the circulation pump motor can become overworked to the point of becoming inoperable. Luckily, replacing the pump motor is not as difficult a job as it might seem. To begin the repair, turn off the power supply and shut off the water supply valve. Remove the screws that secure the lower access panel. Disconnect the water supply line from the inlet valve. Then proceed to remove the mounting screws from the junction box cover. Take note of the wires' orientation. Remove the screws that hold the bracket. Disconnect the drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal. Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting screws. Pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet and unsnap the covers from the hinge ropes. Disconnect the ropes. Remove the screws securing the upper door panel. Carefully tilt the dishwasher back and detach the fill hose from its retaining clip disconnecting the hose from the sump. Uninstall the circulation pump and align the pump with the seal and sump. Tighten the clamp and transfer the wires from the old pump to the new one. Proceed to reinstall the panels that were uninstalled. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand dishwashers.
