Refrigerator not cooling freezer ok Don L. • Peachtree City , GA • March 12, 2019
Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Freezer was shuuting down or not coming back on after defrost cycle Kent S. • Springfield , OH • October 24, 2020
I replaced defrost timer (which I am glad I did because of wear on the points) but that did not cure the problem. So after checking other components, I found that the temperature control was the culprit. No problem, I will simply order part # 2162521100. Well Frigidaire decided to obsolete that part and "Has not provided an approved substitute". So, I have to scrap this freezer and pay $800 to $900 for a new one? Not! So I kept looking at subsequent freezer temperature controls and found part #...

Needed a shelf glide and key for freezer Sarah L. • Fairfax , MO • November 09, 2014
Went online and ordered both parts on separate days, receiving the parts the next day FedEx.
I am a 74 year female and put the parts on myself, also the model # on the freezer was easy to find. Live in a rural area in NW Missouri and would have driven 60 miles to order parts and then probably would have driven 60 miles to get them or had repair man come which is $100 just to have one come. This was totally appreciated!

The panel was broken and the lid didn't close. Leticia V. • Hidalgo , TX • December 02, 2017
It was relatively easy, we took out the broken lid with the gasket then remove the clips, all of them were ok and we could use them again.
Then we proceed to put the new lid with the gasket and use clips to fasten the lid.

This micro switch detects door or lid position and tells the appliance when the door is closed so cycles can start or safety interlocks stay engaged. It restores reliable door sensing and helps prevent operation with the door open. What it does:
- Acts as a position sensor that completes or breaks the control circuit when the door/lid is closed or opened
- Keeps the appliance from starting or continuing a cycle if the door is open (safety interlock)
- Common symptom fix: appliance won't start, stops mid-cycle, or shows door-related error codes
- Small electrical switch designed to mount at the door latch or frame and connect to the appliance wiring harness
What's included: One micro switch Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or shut off breaker) before attempting service
- Access may require removing panels, trim, or the door latch assembly; keep track of screws and fasteners
- Observe wiring orientation and connector positions; replace exactly as removed or tag wires
