I replaced the defrost timer, which took about 10 minutes. After replacing the timer, I cleared out some ice that filled up the air passage from the freezer to the fridge (which allows the cold air to pass through from the freezer to the fridge). I went to sleep and the next morning the fridge was ice cold!!! Such a relief that I was able to spend a few bucks instead of hundreds for a new fridge. Researched and found a handle that appeared to be a part that would fit. Part was returnable if it didn't fit. 1. Removed the broken handle and all trim. Dry fit the new handle. a. The trim does not fit with the new handle. The chrome strip inside the handle is too short. Discard. The lower trim strip is held on with a 1/4" sheet metal screw under the plastic trim insert.
