Part Number: W10823511
The Ice Maker Water Line is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It supplies water from the household plumbing to the ice maker, ensuring a consistent and reliable production of ice cubes. This kit includes a 1/4-inch plastic water line that is approximately 72 inches long. The tubing will need to be cut to match the desired length.
Causes of a bad water line can include wear and tear from prolonged use, kinks or bends restricting water flow, or leaks due to punctures or cracks. A compromised water line can result in inadequate ice production or water leaks.
Symptoms of a bad ice maker water line include:
- Reduced or no ice production
- Leaking water from the refrigerator
- Visible cracks or damage to the water line
- Ice cubes that are smaller than usual
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Not dispensing water
-
Ice maker not making ice
-
Leaking

Ice maker stopped making ice Janell N. • Portland , OR • August 10, 2014
I had verified that the water supply was healthy, so it was either the icemaker unit or the water valve. I replaced the icemake first, based on a the pareto showing it was the culprit for most other people, but it didn't help. That replacement was straightforward; the hardest part was reaching all the way back to unclip the wiring harness since I am too lazy to totally empty the bottom freezer and remove the door.
So the next step was the water valve. The hardest part of this was pulling the...

The drip pan had basically disintegrated in the 6 years i've had the kitchenaid refrigerator Robert M. • Glenside , PA • November 06, 2015
Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. Probably saved myself $150.00 on buying the part and doing it myself

Compressor would not turn back on after shutting down after thermostat reached proper temperature inside internal fan would run but not with cold air Peter C. • Riverhead , NY • April 21, 2015
Thank you to everyone who entered comments, especially about the "Clicking" sounds when it was trying to turn on the compressor. I did not notice them at first, but then heard them and was confident that one of these parts (or both) had a problem. In my case, I have custom cabinets around the sides of the refrigerator and hardwood floors in the kitchen so I put down some cardboard when the rollers would need to go at an angle due to a center island in the way. (I would rather do this myself...

Dishwasher would not start Mark M. • Midlothian , VA • July 16, 2016
Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find...

Refrigerator warm freezer normal Edward H. • Harrisburg , PA • March 15, 2015
The cooling coils were iced-up. The ice was blocking air flow to the refrigerator. This resulted in the freezer working fine while the refrigerator was warm. Called AppliancePartsPros and talked to Sally. Sally was a big help in troubleshooting the problem. I ordered and replaced the cooling coil heater. If you attempt to do this repair yourself, BE CAREFUL, the cooling coil fins are sharp.

Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems.

Erratic/warm temps sometimes worked fine but not reliably Jennifer C. • Plainville , MA • June 15, 2015
My fridge was often reaching 60-70 degrees but would work well when motor/fans were running; it just wasn't cooling regularly. I checked the coils, defrost, damper, and fans, and they all seemed to work, so that only left the cold control in terms of what I was willing to try to fix. (It wasn't worth messing with the compressor as the fridge is 12 yrs old.) The fridge would sometimes kick on when I tapped the cold control knob so it was a reasonable - and, it turns out, correct - guess.
I...

I had no cooling in the upper ( not freezer) section of my frige Alexander M. • Gloucester , MA • August 23, 2015
I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it.
I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat.
You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. (which it seems was was still functional).
Between that and cycling some ice packs up from the still working...
