This turbidity sensor detects how clear the dishwasher's wash water is so the control can adjust cycle time, rinses, and water changes. Replacing a faulty sensor helps restore proper cleaning performance and normal cycle lengths.

  • Monitors soil level/clarity of the wash water
  • Signals the control to extend or shorten wash and rinse phases as needed
  • Helps optimize water use while maintaining cleaning results
  • Failure symptoms can include unusually long or short cycles, poor cleaning, repeated draining/refilling, or cycles that won't advance
What's included: 1 turbidity sensor assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before servicing
  • Pull the dishwasher out as needed; access the sensor from the base area
  • Place a towel to catch residual water; release the locking tab or twist-lock, unplug the connector, and install the new sensor fully seated and locked
  • Restore power/water and run a test cycle; check for leaks

Questions & Answers

For Bosch Turbidity Sensor (Aqua Sensor Assembly) (Part Number: OEM8407101)

Bill, if this is only occurring during the regular wash cycle and not during the automatic wash cycle, the issue would be within the main control 00701523 located in the right side of the base. However, in regards to the turbidity sensor, if it is coated in residue it can cause long wash cycles (but it would not cause faster cycles).

Craig, the sump filter will need to be removed, then water will need to be added until the sump is full. Once the sump is full, lift up on the float switch gently and the drain pump should start draining the water. Once the water is completely drained out, release the float and observe the sump. If water flows back into the sump, the check valve 00611320 has failed and would need to be replaced.

Happy Family for Model Number SHE43C05UC/46

Bosch dishwasher, 12 years old. The machine won't stop the cycle. Soap dispenses properly. It ran for 3 hours and water remained at the bottom with soap on one cycle. Used the cancel drain feature. Tried the rinse and hold cycle, had to stop it manually as it keeps running. We did get the water to drain. The last time we used the washer it washed and rinsed but kept running after the rinse cycle stopped-did not dry the dishes. We opened the washer and let the dishes air-dry overnight. Ideas on what part needs replacing? Thank you very much

Happy Family, If the unit will not drain during the cycle but will drain when you hit cancel/drain, this would most likely be caused by a faulty control module.

Steve, a bad turbidity sensor or even a lot of residue collected on the turbidity sensor can cause this issue. You will first want to check the turbidity sensor to ensure that there is not a lot of residue build up. However, with the error code showing up, more than likely you will find that the turbidity sensor has failed.

Ariel, go back to the toe plate and use a multimeter to see if there is 120 volts at the black to white wires at the terminal block. if the voltage is there, you would be looking at the main control located in the door. part number is 00676960

Hello Elaine, You should check the water temperature of the water going into the dishwasher. The hot water should be run until hot before starting the units' cycle so it will fill with hot water so the dishwasher does not have to heat the water as long. Also be sure not to oversoap since the turbidity sensor will cause additional fills until it sees the water is clear.

Steve, If the error code did not pop up when the water was shut off then this would most likely be caused by a leaking water valve. If the error code still popped up then this could be a leak around one of the seals causing the issue.

Hugh King for Model Number she6805uc/28

E 25 code and E 24 code I Checked all drain hoses and they are clear I checked inlet to train impeller all clear.. I replace drain pump no help. You can hear drain pump pulse for about 2 seconds and water comes out of drain hose. It does this about three times until it sets E25.. If you drain it by using reset button after a cycle starts and do this 3-4 times until water gets low enough then drain pump stays on and finishes normally. any ideas?

1 Answer

Hugh, You may want to try starting the dishwasher, disconnect the drain hose from the plumbing under the sink. Allow the dishwasher to run a minute or two, then drain the water into a large bucket or trash can. This should clear any restrictions in the drain hose / line. Then check the wiring and connections to the drain pump, then replace the drain pump 00611332 . This is a low voltage DCV motor and can operate erratically and intermittently.
