Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Refrigerator Water Filter (Part Number: OEM7616916)

1 Answer

Hello Dane, replacing the water filter should not have affected the ice maker fill as both the water dispenser and ice maker fill water goes through the filter. Check if possible the ice maker fill tube is frozen. We would need the ref model number to assist you further.

Robert, the fill tube would need to be inspected for an ice blockage. If there is an ice blockage, the valve 242252702 has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not an ice blockage, the ice maker bail rake can be rotated clockwise just behind the motor to cause a harvest cycle. Near the end of the cycle, the water valve should receive 120VAC (test with meter while ice maker is harvesting). If the valve receives 120VAC, and there is not water in the ice maker, then the valve has failed. If there is not 120VAC going to the valve then the ice maker 241798231 would need to be replaced. If the ice maker did fill with water, then the freezer temperature would need to be verified as being less than 8°F.

Donna, Yes the red light for the tiler status would indicate the filter would need to be replaced. When you replace the filter you will need to reset the light.

Denis Kenshalo for Model Number FFU20F9GW3

I have a frigidaire freezer Model # FFU2OF9GW3 the red light on the bottom of the unit is on and the buzzer is making noise but it doesn't look like it is getting any warmer inside yet, I can turn it to colder and it will get colder, I have just a few hours ago set the temp to #4 and it looks like it is holding at 20 degrees So what is going on with it.?  I messed with it yesterday and got the light to do off but then this morning its on again..

1 Answer

Denis, the temperaturee in the freezer should be at 0-5 degreees and colder than 20 degrees. Check the evaperator coils to see if they are iced up. If they are ok, look to see if you have a good solid frost pattern from top to bottom. If the freezer will not pull the temperature down to 0 degrees, you may have a sealed system problem.

Raymond, When the ice maker cycles you can look for 120 vac at the water valve solenoid for the ice maker. If you have voltage and no blockage then you will need part # AP5671757]

Tanya, There are a couple parts that could be the issue. You might have to dig a bit but if you can remove the housing from the filter you can observe whats leaking a little better.Possibly the water filter itself cracked or the housing and dont forget your supply lines to and from.Mainly i've seen the housing be the culprit.Part # for that one is 242009604

Tanya, it sounds like the water line may be froze up, if thawing out the water line with warm towels does not work, you may need to replace that water tube, it may be split.

Raymond for Model Number GLRS267ZA

I recently replaced the water filter. My wife filled her bottle and we went on vacation. When I returned home, I found a pool of water by the side of the refrigerator. We have never had this problem in 8-10 years of use. I used part no. WF2CB filter I ordered from Frigidaire. I was told that there was some kind of redesign on the filter interface. Should I order a new Base water filter 240396001? That seems to be the part number listed on the parts list.

1 Answer

Hello Raymond, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the complete model number from the units' I.D. tag since there are 21 possible model numbers from the partial number provided. This will enable us to look up the exact part listed by the manufacturer for the model you have in your home. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Keith, The quick connect has a ring on it around the tube that you push in on and then while pushing in on it you will need to pull on the tube.
