Mike--Washer Dead November 15, 2011 for Model Number MAH8700AWW I did some of the component testing procedures in the booklet taped in the machine. a/c power check was ok. The door lock check and the door unlocked check did not seem right. Both showed 120v a/c. Door unlock check-Pin 1 of CN5 and pin 8 of CN10 had 120V. Door lock check pin 1 of CN5 and pin 2 of CN7 had 120v and pin 1 of CN5 and pin 7 of CN10 had 120v. Is there something wrong with the door lock, or is this more control board problems? Have heard about all the problems with the wax motors and was wondering if this model could have the same problems and ruin a new control board. Too costly to take a chance.
1 Answer Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the door lock WP8182634 is bad and will need to be replaced. If the voltage is there, but the lock is not working properly, then it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mike November 14, 2011 for Model Number maytag MAH8700AWW Washer stopped part way through cycle and is dead-no error codes,no display,no lights, door locked up. Unplugged it overnight and still the same. There is power to the control board. Is the contol board bad? And if so could another component have knocked out the board and thus destroy any new replacement board?
1 Answer Hello Mike. If the board is dead, then you will need to replace the control board 34001494. It sounds like it took a surge and should only need the control board. Once replaced, make sure there are no water leaks inside the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Frank C. November 05, 2011 for Model Number MAH870aww I keep getting a "dc" error code at spin cycle. I know this means unbalanced load not reaching RPMs. It does it even when empty. What is broken? This machine has already had a main board replaced 2 years ago.
1 Answer Hi Frank. "Dc"-error is the machine never exceeded 400 rpm due to an unbalanced load. The first thing to do is make sure the unit is level front to back and side to side. Make sure the nuts are locked on the legs up against the base when leveled. Remove the top and back. Look to see if the top tub springs are in place. Make sure the shocks are intact below. Shock part # WP34001303. Is the rear pulley nut on fully? Part # 34001271. Is the inner drum run- out OK? You can compare it against the inner door boot edge while in spin to watch for excessive wobble. Thank You. Read More...
Vander October 04, 2011 for Model Number MAH8700AWW The machine starts and then stops and appears a code 3E. What I need to do to fix the problem?
1 Answer Hello Vander. Based on the code you provided, you will need to test and see if there is power coming to the motor WP34001437. Also, make sure all wires are good and tight on the unit. If so, and the motor is not turning the tub assembly, you will need to replace the motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Eric September 11, 2011 for Model Number MAH8700AWW Washer runs through cycles ok until it gets to the drain and spin, drains ok but starts to spin (in diagnostic mode watching rpms)only gets to about 180 rpm then stops and starts spin over and over again. My wife said she had a E-3 code pop up on screen but when I checked the codes all it has is a 2-E code which is replace control board. So what should I do or replace?
1 Answer Hi Eric. Check your motor control board and motor for loose connections. The machine control board is searching for the motor Tach. response that it is not getting. The E-3 code and the 2-E diagnostic code is the same code as the motor not moving,(locked rotor, hall effect switch sensor fault). The motor is part # WP34001437. If you do not find loose connections. Thank you. Read More...

Wil July 15, 2011 for Model Number MAH8700AWW The machine would not go into a fast spin, chimed and gave an (E3)error code. I had to remove the clothes, drain the machine and then I got it to spin. I reloaded the machine to do another wash and got the same (E3)error code.
1 Answer Hi Wil. There is a hall effect sensor on your motor that is not reading rpm's. Check to see if the motor wires are all intact. You will need the motor part # is WP34001437. Thank you. Read More...
Stella B. June 11, 2011 for Model Number mah8700aww This machine sits and cycles through all of the cycles on the control panel when not in use and can't be turned off. You can't set a cycle .
