Kevin May 01, 2014 for Model Number MDG6800AWW Will this control board work on a Maytag Neptune dryer model # MDG6800AWW?
Jono B. April 20, 2014 I have a Maytag MDE5500AYW model dryer and on the control panel the lights will turn on, but nothing works when you push any of the buttons and can't get the dryer to start. Will I need to fix the control panel assembly or is it something to do with the control board? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jono, The first thing I would check is the door switch W10169313. The next is the thermal fuse WP307473. Be aware, if the thermal fuse is open, this is caused by excessive temperatures inside the unit cabinet. This is caused by a clogged, crimped, or otherwise restricted exhaust duct. Read More...
John February 08, 2014 for Model Number MDE5500AYW I have a Maytag Neptune electric dryer model # MDE5500AYW that when the LED control panel is set to sensor dry and the drying temperature is set to regular or just below with the amount of dryness set anywhere between normal and very dry, the control board beeps continually until the dryer is started or shut off. Timed drying seems to work fine but both the sensor mode and time dry modes seem to dry clothes very hot also whether the dryer is set on air fluff or any other setting. Would this be the LED control panel or the control board and what part number would it be. Thank You in advance, this has been a long time issue that I am finally addressing.
1 Answer John, You will want to check the thermistor and the sensor bars to make sure that they are good. If faulty the part would need to be replaced. This is the most likely cause for the beeping when you start the unit. Read More...
Mike M. January 20, 2014 for Model Number maytag MDG5500AWW On the circuit board AS-NDLED-10C there are three resistors R53, R54, R55 and R56. I am wondering what size these resistors are? Thank you have a great day
1 Answer Mike, Sorry, but the manufacturer has never released that information. They prefer a servicer to replace the control board, than take on the liability of an improperly serviced part causing damage or injury to a customer/consumer, or the surrounding property. Read More...
Bruce January 03, 2014 for Model Number Maytag MDG5500AWW Dryer is not heating properly. Dryer turns on. The igniter heats up for approximately 30 seconds, the gas lights and burns for about 20 seconds after that and then the gas goes off. What can I check? Sensor bars, thermistor, hi limit thermostat? and how? Any help appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Bruce. Usually when a flame short cycles, it is due to bad gas valve coils 279834 on the unit. Read More...
Ldg December 24, 2013 for Model Number Matag Neptune Model # MDG5500 Our Dryer every once in a while doesn't start. A PF indicator comes up on the LED. I turn it off then on a couple times and it starts. Sometimes it may take several off and on procedures to turn it on. I have taken the panel out checked all connections and they seem okay. Even unplugged dryer and thought reset would help, it didn't. All other indicator lights work when everything is on. Thank You
1 Answer Hello LDG. It sounds like the control board 33003028 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Mike November 11, 2013 for Model Number MDG5500AWQ We are having issue with the dryer starting. It will start sometimes, after it does start it will not start again right away BUT after sometime an hour or so it will start again. The start/pause button will not make noise when pushed neither will the stop button. The buttons on the volume control will not work either. All other buttons, lights , noises work. From my research it sounds like it is either main control board #33003028 or touch pad control #33002537. Please help in this matter, thank you for your time.
1 Answer Hello Mike. Check the ribbon cable connection. If good, replace the touch pad on the unit. Read More...
Jason September 12, 2013 for Model Number MDE5500AYN Maytag Neptune LED dryer. Started making random chirping sounds, sometimes continuously. Control panel locks up and dryer doesn't start.. Unplug unit to "reboot" and it runs, sometimes, but cannot change settings. Happened about a year ago and then chirping went away. Now it does not work again. Internal light works.
1 Answer Jason, Your first check needs to be at the control panel / keypad assembly 22004444 You'll need to verify the correct part based on the series/serial number. Once you access the control assembly, you'll find the tech sheet and can test the keypad circuits with a meter. Read More...
Todd July 09, 2013 for Model Number MDG5500AWW SERIAL# 63283169EC Dryer just stopped working. No lights on control panel at all and none of the buttons work. The interior light still works with the door switch. Could it be a thermal fuse or am I looking at the costly control panel or board? What should I check and how? Thanks Todd
1 Answer Hello Todd. Test for proper power and look for bad wire. if none is found, replace the main control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Dan 58 June 04, 2013 for Model Number MDE5500AYW My dryer will not start. The display is lit up like normal with the start/pause button flashing and the estimated time display showing "46" (which is normal) but when you push start nothing happens. Also there are some random chirping noises (no pattern). I've unplugged the dryer several times and left it set and retried it with no change.
1 Answer Dan, You will want to check to make sure that the door switch is good by doing a continuity test on the door switch. The door switch should have continuity when closed. Also check the thermal fuse on the front of the blower housing. The thermal fuse should also have continuity. If the these test ok then the most likely cause of failure would be a faulty control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
