Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Control Board (Part Number: OEM12030174)

Val, More than likely it sounds like a lid lock issue. There is a tech sheet that tells you how to put the unit in diagnostics and check error codes to know a good starting point for testing. If you tilt the machine back and look up into the cabinet it is glued to the front top left of the front cabinet wall.

Mike, the control board is not recognizing the RPM of the motor as it turns, you would need to replace the machine control, unfortunately, it is no longer available from the manufacturer.

Jon, Based on your post description, you most likely have a failed water temperature control switch. Without a model number we're unable to determine which switch you would need or what wires/circuits to check. We'll need the model number of your washer, or the manufacturers part number from the switch to assist you properly. Thanks,

Hello Neil, There are two different boards for this model. The series is determined by the first two digits of the serial number. If the first two digits are 16 as in your case, you will need to order the 12001725. The other board can only be used if the serial number begins with 17 or higher.

Dave, For the water you are hearing inside the unit this will be normal as there is a balance ring that has a solution in it. As for the spinning issue., You will want to check the lock assembly to make sure that the spin enable switch is being made. Also check the main board for a burnt R11 resistor.

Judy for Model Number MAH3000AWW

I went to start washer and pushed button to start. Only a little bit of water entered machine and then stopped. I pushed the start button again and it did the same thing. Then I smelled something burning so I shut it off and took apart the top. The main board must have caught on fire and it is completely burned. I have all the numbers from the board but cannot find them on the website. Here are the numbers I can find on the board: 8226, 60C20040106, 6-2707700, OON20040303, PCL-13A, 94V-D, 9829. Please let me know which board I should order. The serial number of my machine is 33123204UY. Thank you for your help. Judy

Robert, You would want to check to makes sure that the wire harness for the motor has good connections and check the motor control to make sure that all the connectors are seated properly. This also could be caused by a bad spin enable switch.

Ann Marie, Further testing or checking, should be done. First, check and clean or replace the debris screens in the fill hoses and fill valve inlets. Improper fill can affect the operation and stop the washer during the cycle. Check the water level switch WP22002921 circuits, and disconnect the air tube from the switch and blow in the end of the hose, this usually clears any debris in the tube. Then check the main relay on the control board to see if it is "dropping out" of the circuit.
