Glenn November 11, 2017 for Model Number gh5184xps-7 My microwave is giving the F3H code. Can you tell me what this indicates?
1 Answer Hello Glenn, This fault code indicates a humidity sensor failure. The manufacturer recommends following these steps: 1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 2. Connect a new humidity sensor to the electronic control (at P5). 3. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 4. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. 5. If no failure code appears when starting sensor function, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 6. Replace old humidity sensor. 7. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 8. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. 9. If failure code appears when starting sensor function, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 10. Replace electronic control. 11. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 12. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. Read More...
Tucker July 29, 2017 for Model Number KHHS179LSS2 Microwave sounds normal, but must be set for longer time to (for example) boil water.
1 Answer Tucker, It would be recommended to check the capacitor on the unit to make sure that it is good but this sounds like it would be a sensor issue. Read More...
Rfs March 09, 2017 for Model Number gh4155xpt-0 My uncle cooked chocolate too long in microwave and burnt it now my microwave will not work it turns on but it makes a funny noise and it won't heat up. What do I need to check to fix the problem ?
1 Answer Hello RFS. You most likely have a "high voltage" side malfunction. Transformer, diode, magnetron, Capacitor. You will need to be extremely careful if you decide to test the components with a multi meter, Very high residual voltage is present, so make sure you remove power to the microwave and short across the terminals on the capacitor. The magnetron should have a reading of less than 1 ohm resistance across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit between each terminal and chassis ground. The diode/rectifier should have a resistance reading in one direction only, no resistance, or resistance in both directions indicate a faulty diode. The primary winding on the trans former should read approximately 450 Ohms resistance, the secondary winding should read 80 ohms resistance, and the filament transformer should read 100 ohms resistance. If all the readings are proper and in range, replace the magnetron. Read More...
Richard October 25, 2016 for Model Number mh3184xpb-2 Microwave vent fan runs at very low speed barely turning low rumble seems to be moisture related happens after boiling water or cooking on stove unplugging microwave power letting sit for a day or 2 and it stops for a while but keeps happening any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Richard. It sounds like the fan motor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. The moisture should not affect the fan in the unit. Read More...
Terry P. August 29, 2015 for Model Number 363.62709200 Displays f3 fault code. The light quit working first, then the start button stopped working. Is it that board gone bad.
1 Answer Hello Terry, This can be a connection issue between the touch pad WB06X10456 and the control WB27X10655, or simply a stuck key on the display. I'm sorry but this part WB06X10456 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...

Art March 06, 2012 for Model Number GH8155XMB0 Got the unit up working just fine for a few days. Now a little problem, when punching the auto beverage button the unit completes its cycle, but it shorts sometimes and doesn't completely heat the coffee. Out of 5 times this morning, it timed out correctly once with hot coffee. I now am relying on punching a designated time in to complete the heat-up. Could this be a problem with this auto sensor? And is there a way to test it?
1 Answer Hi Art. Is the keypad (no longer available) and the control board part # 8183726 accepting the commands properly? Are there any fault codes? Humidity Sensor: 1. Remove the 3-pin connector from PCBA (P2). NOTE: Do not remove the attached resistor which is used for internal resistance calibration.2. Measure resistance across pins 1 & 3 (ohmmeter scale: Rx1k):- Normal: 2.8k ohms (approx.) at 25°±10°C (77°±18°F) - Abnormal: Infinite3. Measure resistance across pins 2 & 3 (ohmmeter scale: Rx1k):- Normal: 2.8k ohms (approx.) at 25°±10°C (77°±18°F) - Abnormal: Infinite. Sensor part # 8206446. Thank You. Read More...
Marlon C. March 04, 2012 for Model Number Whirpool MH3184XPQ-3 Ventilation fan humms when blower is off. Fan runs ok on all 4 speeds. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Marlon. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the door switches W10211974 are bad and will need to be replaced. You will need to test and see which ones are bad. NC to COM should read closed and NO to COM should read open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
