Joe for Model Number Model LAT9806AAM - Serial # 23377981UD

Maytag Washer - Model LAT9806AAM - Need a new timer. Old Timer is model # 6 2096720. Have read other questions in regards to which is the correct replacement timer, Some answers contradict each other. Based on serial number of washer. I have been told by service people that the correct timer to replace the old one is no longer available. Is this true, and if not, which replacement timer is the correct one to replace the original timer # 6 2096720? Thanks for the help.

Joe, The correct timer for the model and serial number you supplied is WP22002190 / WP22002190. The correct part is in stock and available at this time. Supplies are limited. When you receive the part, it should have the same manufacturer part number, 6 2096720 as your original timer. Thanks,

Hello Mark, You cannot use a timer for a washer that is not listed specifically for that machine. You can create a flood or fire hazard and the manufacturer will take no responsibility for the machine from that point. Also, it is seldom that you will even find a timer that is not for a specific model number that the harness will plug into properly. This is done by the manufacturer to try to prevent the wrong timer to be installed.

Hello Bill, What are the first two numbers of the serial number. This will denote the timer part number that you need. If the first two digits is 10-14 then this would be part number 22001695. If first two is 15 and above then you would need timer part number WP22002190.
