Samsung was no help. Appliance Parts Pros said that part DA 81-05997A was the replacement part. Lacey C Port Orchard , WA April 29, 2017 Samsung dryer motor mount clamp came off The clip that holds the motor in place (stupid design) had stretched and popped off causing a grinding sound in the dryer when the drum rotated. This required removing the top and front panels of the dryer, and removing the drum to replace the clamp. There are 2 clamps on the motor mount (front and back) I would recommend changing both out while your there. All in all it was about an hour to take apart the dryer and diagnose the problem. About a hour to put back together and test. but seems to be running good now. Aaron S Apex , NC October 08, 2018 My Samsung dryer would not stop running unless the door was open or it was unplugged. The drum was making a terrible noise. I replaced the PCB to fix the issue with the unit running with no power. Basically, all it took was undoing 2 screws to remove the control panel and another screw to remove the faulty PCB. To fix the banging noise I had to disassemble the entire dryer and found one of the motor clamps had come loose and was catching on the drum. I cleaned out some lint that had gotten in to the unit and then replaced the original motor clamp before reassembling the dryer. It works like new now. Read More...
