Whirlpool WP285655 Hose Clamp OEM Part

We ordered parts from appliance parts pros and I fixed it.

Replaced pump motor. Looked at EEC and figured it would probably not be an easily failed part. It is isolated from moisture, well grounded and shock isolated. Used the video available on the APP website to help me change out the pump. Everything was just like in the video. Took all of 5 minutes to change out. Only thing they could have done better was to show how to drain the water out of a partially filled machine since most pumps fail during a pump cycle and can leave water in the machine. Unless you are industrious and know that the front of the pump can be unscrewed so you can get a shallow pan under the front of it to catch the water, you might pull the hose off instead and then the water spills out inside the machine. BaD idea. APP please assume worst case for all repairs and add that to the video. The rest is cake! Thanks.

I replaced the water inlet valve assembly. We have relatively hard water and I assumed that over the years those inlet valves were clogged with calcium deposits which in turn led to the high pitched squealing as water was added to the machine. The hardest part of the entire job was releasing the top of the washer to disconnect the hoses from the valve assembly. Everything else was relatively easy. We simply followed the online video. My washer no longer screams and I'm thrilled! Your videos are fabulous. Thank you for providing all the information we needed to do the job ourselves. This is my second purchase. I fixed a dryer timer a year ago. Any time I can fix it myself and save the cost of a repairman coming to the house, its a great day! iHopefully, I'll get a few more years of use out of my laundry pair. Thank you!

I decided to order the siphon break kit (siphon break, washer and clamp included), a new hose, and clamp (for the bottom hose connection) as the hose was original and well over 15 years old. I probably could have used the old clamp, but decided to get a new one in case there were problems with the old during removal. The video provided by A.P.P was helpful in giving confidence this was a task that could be done by myself. As was shown in the video, the hose connection to the siphon break had a band of metal for the clamp, which had to be cut off. This also influenced my decision to purchase a new hose. Having access to the front and rear of the washer was probably the most annoying part of the task as washers are often in place with the back to a wall between other obstacles. Note that there will likely be water spillage when the hose is removed at the bottom connection. My washer is now back in service.

To diagnose the problem, I ran the washer through a short cycle listening very carefully to when the noise was worse. I detected the noise was worse when the washer was draining the water. So knowing this, I looked up the Appliance Parts Pros video on how to change the water pump. Armed with this knowledge, I removed the lower front panel and found the pump. Then I ran the washer through a short cycle to confirm the noise was coming from the pump, and the vibrating discharge hose which rubbed up against the sheet metal covering the side of the washer. After unplugging the washer, I cleaned out the pump screen and checked the impeller. The impeller looked fine, but would not turn smoothly. The cleaning didn't help, so I ordered the new pump. When the new pump arrived, I pulled out the old pump and installed the new pump. This project took about 30-60 minutes not including the time to do the research. The washer ran nice and quite like it should. I would have had to call a repair person to fix the problem, but saved money watching the video. Easy part identification, and quick shipping. Thanks!
