Randy J Sandy , UT April 23, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator JFI2089AES2 Refrigerator freezing food 20 F when set at 36 F I replaced the fridge thermistor and this seal. This seal is a new, better design. I felt air was leaking around the old seal. My old thermistor was reading 15,000 ohms @ ice, the new one read 17,000. While this difference was in the right direction of my temperature issue I think this seal fixed my issue. I'm surprised in all my Google searches this seal never came up as a probable cause for freezing food. The seal is a bit tricky to replace, it is very hard to get the plastic ring out and also a little hard to push the new ring and seal combination back in place.
